We've taken a fresh approach to typical sliders. "Just a tube" is just not enough! What you see is the result. First, they have to be strong, so we start with 1.75" .120 wall thickness DOM steel. This is a higher carbon content (stronger, more dent resistant than cheaper HREW). We cut the inner tube, outer tube, and support legs to the frame from this material. The outer tube is not welded onto the main tube, but rather it caps the main tube on both ends. This has 2 results. The first, it simply looks better, with cleaner lines. Second, it allows this outer tube to be longer, starting protection against body damage sooner, and maintaining it longer. Since we incorporate 90 degree bends at either ends, and cap our inner tube, this allows for a MUCH longer length of straight outer tube, when the slider keeps objects away from the body, longer. Yet having a bend at either end allows for smooth, predictable transitions onto and off of trail obstacles, To finish the outer tube, steel caps are welded at either end to ensure these won't rust out.Naturally, 2 tubes alone is not terribly strong, they need connecting tubes, which we cut from 1.5" .120 wall tubing. Finally, the most noticeable piece, our Dimpled Plate. This plate serves a few purposes. One, it is stitch welded to each spreader tube, and the inner and outer tube. Strengthening the whole structure, much like a sheer wall in a house. Two, the plate itself protects the body from rocks, gravel, mud, snow, ice, and other road debris and grime, preventing those small damage spots from occuring, and eventually rusting away bottoms of doors, rocker panels, etc. Three, this plate allows the Slider to be used as a step, by pets and kids, without legs and feet falling thru! (obviously small pet feet and fingers can still get thru the 1.5" holes, so please be careful). At the end of the day, a very clean looking setup that's built for rocks, but cleanly designed for the daily driver duties. And protection against mud and general grime, so that one puddle on the way to work, doesnt makes your rigs whole side looks like you went bogging that morning! And to ensure the Slider stays where you want it, we provide a complete package with 4x4" plates to reinforce attachment points on the frame rail. These plates are formed to wrap the bottom of the frame, as well as the side! The strength and beauty is in the details. Sliders Fit: '79-'83 Truck '84-'95 Standard Cab, Shortbed Trucks '84-'95 4Runner '96-'04 Standard Cab, Shortbed Tacoma '96-'02 4Runner Notched frame legs, and frame plates included! Frame plates are formed to attached both to the side of the frame, and underneath, for massive strength!
